Introducing our talented Associates:

Thea Atkinson is a professional adult educator with the NSCC as well as a published fiction writer. She teaches customized computer training courses and is adept in a number of computer programs and software applications. Atkinson is also an experienced web designer, and has masterminded a number of creative layouts for brochures and newsletters. She currently is the Faculty Advisor for the Writing for Publication course at NSCC Burridge Campus, associate fiction editor at the Vestal Review and edits Commerce Magazine. In her spare time, Atkinson is either camping or thinking about camping. She yearns to make a decent pizza over an open flame.
Gerry Boudreau is a former co-owner and past president of Radio CJLS in Yarmouth. His experience in film, creating and managing programs for television, sound and video spans over 30 years, including five years as an executive producer with TV Ontario, overseeing production and programming. He is fully bilingual and narrates in both English and French. He's always had a keen interest in people, music, tourism, economic development-anything that celebrates and promotes life and growth in Atlantic Canada. He's created a number of documentaries over the years, and he currently pitches in with Parnell-Phinney Productions-when he's not in France!
Percey Cottreau owns and operates PJ Photography-providing professional photography services in South West Nova Scotia since 1989. His specialties run the gamut from family, wedding, and graduation portraits, to business portraits and commercial work. Cottreau also does aerial photos. He creates artwork for magazines, brochures, and catalogues, and his client base spans the corporate world to private and public sector undertakings. When he's not squinting behind a camera lens, he can be found carving walking sticks or reading a book. A romantic at heart, he's especially fond of Jack Whyte's stories about King Arthur and the boys.
Danielle Marchand stepped into the world of communications about 25 years ago and has a rich varied background in communications. She worked on a film for l'Office National du film, created some radio series for CBC, managed the acadian community radio station in Comeauville, became a reporter and then editor of Le courrier de la Nouvelle-Écosse, translated websites for acadian artists and federal agencies, and is a jouralist for french CBC. She continues to have a mixed portfolio, including full translation services. When she's not in front of her computer she's walking the shores of St-Mary's Bay with America-a mix wolf hound and terrier who loves to catch ball.
Alain Meuse is a Founding Member of Fundy Printers (currently Optipress in Yarmouth, NS) For 38 years, he's been a writer and editor with this company, and in 1970 he assumed the role of editing the Sou'wester, a commercial fishing industry tabloid published twice monthly, which covers Atlantic Canada. He's also the humour editor of Eastern Woods & Waters and has a regular column in The Novi Directory. In the past he wrote for, hosted, and helped produce a cable TV show entitled Sea and Shore. Meuse may have missed his calling, however, as he's a pretty good cook. He's famous for his rappie pie-the best in the world.
Carol Sherman has been employed at Radio CJLS Limited for close to 20 years, with fifteen of those as an Advertising Consultant. She has written, recorded, and produced commercials as well as voice-over work for the tourist industry. She has 30 years of experience in local productions, including landing lead roles in major stage productions. Her primary passion in life (other than her granddaughter Kellie) is the theatre. In particular, she loves to master accents and dialects. She also uses them when meeting strangers and loves to see the expression on their faces when they discover the difference.
Bob Stewart is a seasoned radio announcer who does professional voice-over work. He's worked with CJLS in Yarmouth and with Annapolis Valley Radio. He's narrated countless stories and ads as well as provided live colour commentary at baseball and hockey games. For many years, Stewart volunteered with Viking Cable TV in Yarmouth, doing interviews for TV and two Cable programs. He researched, wrote the script, and narrated the hour-long documentary "We Ain't No Wreck." He also assisted with the script and narrated the documentary "The People They Forgot." Stewart is also a music aficionado. His favourite band is Spike Jones and the Wacky Wackateers.
Quinn Taggart has been involved in various forms of video production for 25 years. He took a sojourn up north and spent four and a half years living in Kugaaruk (Pelly Bay) in Nunavut. Working extensively with the local Elders, he spearheaded projects that helped to preserve Inuit language and traditional skills. Now back in Yarmouth, he's become the resident computer guru, and since 2003, he's been on staff at Register.com managing portfolios of domain names for corporate accounts. He yearns for a 50 hour day so he can fit in all his hobbies including: being an arm-chair quarterback, curling, storing away useless trivia-and Sudoku.
Mr. X is our incredibly gifted graphic artist. He prefers to remain anonymous. We're willing to camouflage his identity for the pure pleasure of having his brain and talents on our side. If people knew who he was, he'd be mired with fan mail and offers of marriage. It could go to his head and affect his work-so we decided it's best to keep him under wraps. But we have lots of samples of his work. Check out the section on this site called "Selected Works" then look for the logo he created for Novi Boat Brokers, and the SEB brochure he designed for CBDC Yarmouth. Brilliant stuff. He loves a challenge and always seems to be outdoing himself.
